Well, Tekong became ghostly again with Bronco, Cougar and Falcon out for field camp. I envy them now that they have completed and hanged on to that horrendous field camp.

The sixth week was another slack week with Standard Obstacle Course (SOC) scheduled every morning followed by Parade Commander Interview (or Area Cleaning). After lunch, commenced the Individual Marksmanship Training (IMT) at the IMT Centre which is in an air-con room, relax right? After dinner, it’s admin time, which we long awaited for, since for the past five weeks, we have short admin time. We played chess, listened to music, talked cock (as usual) and some even played prank onto others (i.e. strip someone down to his underwear and dragged him around the corridor).

The SAF Playground
Thanks to the haze, the first session of the SOC was only a demonstration. The subsequent ones, we had the chance to try. There are 11 obstacles, hmm, currently I cleared around 8 to 9. More practice, I think I can clear all. I still have some problem clearing that low wall (which happens to be the first obstacle). Demoralizing right? As for the low rope, I haven tried, so I can’t comment much.

Some screamed, some backed out and some gave up. Well, there were a lot of hilarious stuffs that happened on the SOC ground. Sometimes, you see people fearing of heights, you start laughing at them. I have one Indian bunk mate who fears over anything. Take for example the Jacob’s ladder, 2 commanders have to assist him and hold onto him tightly while he advanced the steps, but he still can’t go up on his own after 2 guided attempts. The dam which is only 2 metres tall with bug wire underneath took him 30 minutes to jump. Hey boy, just jump la, at most you get Attend C where you can rest at home, isn’t that great?

Peng! Peng!
Every afternoon is what most of us look forward to, which is going for shooting classes at IMTC. I have poor vision for my right eye, thus I can’t shoot well. However, I learnt smart, I estimated for the target and now I passed almost every test and even scored full marks for most of the test except for smaller targets. This is so as normally the target will be somewhere above a drain, since I can’t see the target, I shoot above the drain. Haha, smart right? Subsequently, I borrowed my friend’s spectacles. I loved the night shot, cos the whole room is dark and you get to shoot illumed and flashing targets which are thrilling. Well, I just hate to shoot while standing, so tough, I prefer to shoot in a fox hole or kneeling position. Of the five hours at IMTC, you spent around 80% of the time waiting, becos at one time, only 10 can shoot. There, you can have your afternoon nap.

… Sick
Though not so much of strenuous activities, I added 5 bruises to my collection on my elbow and knee while doing SOC and I had some strange illness, started with a slight fever and feeling of vomiting and diarrhea for three days and it just happens after each meal. It’s not that normal kind of diarrhea where it “comes out by itself”, you can control it somehow but it’s watery! Yucks! I endured over it, no time and guts to visit the Medical Centre la, cos I heard the Medic will poke something to your asshole, so gross and painful.

Long Week Ahead
Although we get to book in on Tuesday evening, many of us dread over it because of the long week ahead with our field camp burning our weekends. Hell is impeding. 27 Oct 2006.

  • I may look ‘beng’ or ‘dao’, but I am actually an extrovert. Time will tell, I can yack non-stop, crap and express myself with the weirdest examples. I am crazy, but thats the way to distress ma. Being original, simple and honest are my primary goals in life, and I hate hypocrites and pretentious people. So devils, please stay away from me.

Backed in primary school, some catastrophe happened and that changed my goals in life. Well, I am working very hard for that ‘paper’ and that bright and promising future. $$$. I want to prove all those who have looked me down. I want to fight for that future!

“A promise made, will be delivered. And I hope for the same repayment” ...Come try me!

I have met some of my most important friends in life - god-send angels. I am grateful for their supportive and encouraging advices. We will work hard.

This is me, welcome to my world!

Met Since 1998. Alvin & BaoBao.
