Oh my god!! The last time I updated my blog was in January 2010. This semester is over and gosh, I hate it to the max. Firstly, the modules are not interesting and I can’t seem to motivate myself. Lost the drive to strive for good results!! Stupid IT is so boring and the accounting modules are criticising the FRS standards for accounting. Why would they want t prove the inconsistencies to us? To all my juniors, year 2 is the suck-iest period of the NBS journey, cos the pace is so fast and you have so many things to do. Somehow, the modules doesn’t complement each other, for instance, I can mug for a test during the weekend, while preparing powerpoint slides and rehearsing for group presentation for Monday. On other weekends, I had to rush 2 project submissions, 1 individual report and preparation for a quiz for the week. The conclusion will be: lousier GPA for this semester. Unlike last semester, I had only 13Aus, this semester I will be debiting 20Aus into my NTU account. I wonder if my GPA can suffer the bad impact. Hai~

Choosing to study in a university means that you have to give up your free time during the weekends and really mug to get good results. As such, I missed out the ‘funs’ to catch up with my friends and family. Sad right? The government has always been promoting worklife balance, and where is the school-life balance in university?

Come Monday, I am going to start my internship with Ernst & Young, business tax department. Yea!! Although they only pay me $650, it is part of my curriculum so that I can graduate in May 2011!! Can’t wait to graduate. The 10-week of attachment will end in mid-July before school starts in late August. Technically, there is no break, but at least I can look forward to slacker weekends. Yea!

Last year was an important milestone in my life. With the incorporation of T-Loft, a school merchandise company, I learned a lot while doing businesses and negotiating with suppliers, schools and sponsors. We had several media coverage, including the NTU Spectrum TV, NTU Tribune and Lian He Zao Bao. They are mostly cover stories and the Lian He Zao Bao’s which was featured in 14 April 2010 was the grandiest ever. Haha. A full page report on zbNOW. Didn’t expect that the business would attract public interests. With those public relation publications, my mailbox is busier, haha. Suppliers are contacting us to offer us their services. Well, will meet them and see if they can offer cheaper prices and better services. I also had the chance to go down to SMU and TP to make presentations. And TP has agreed to work with us, and they are drafting a proposal to launch a TP identity officially for their 20th Anniversary. Big money, big money!!

Embarking to the last phase of my university life, I am going to enjoy my life to the fullest!! With only 23AUs left (6 modules), I have decided to spread over 2 semesters, though I can graduate one semester earlier than my peers. Why chiong when you haven enjoy the university life? Besides, I will be giving T-Loft another chance to prove that its viable to continue even though I start working!! So will do more marketing, PR and meeting ups with schools. In a way, I do generate some income for myself while studying. ;)

Have you heard about the recent change to the CPA exam? Gosh! My dream to work in IRAS will be ruined cos’ I will be better off in the Big4 since the training would better equipped me with the skills and knowledge to pass the CPA exam when I gather 3 years of working experience. And my prof is right that Big4 is a better choice and in the long run, the pay is higher than the public sector. Hai, will work hard in Ernst & Young so that they give me a direct offer and I have no worries about permanent job in my final year. I might be more proactive to ask EY to give me an overseas posting since I have heard from seniors that it would be a good exposure and learning experience. Greedy greedy. Haha.

To all my friends and family who I have “abandoned” during these periods, I apologise for my selfishness because a Changkat student going to university require more hardwork than a normal being. Thus, I have to spend more time to mug to at least graduate with a second upper honours. Good luck to me!! Hope to catch up with everyone soon!!

  • I may look ‘beng’ or ‘dao’, but I am actually an extrovert. Time will tell, I can yack non-stop, crap and express myself with the weirdest examples. I am crazy, but thats the way to distress ma. Being original, simple and honest are my primary goals in life, and I hate hypocrites and pretentious people. So devils, please stay away from me.

Backed in primary school, some catastrophe happened and that changed my goals in life. Well, I am working very hard for that ‘paper’ and that bright and promising future. $$$. I want to prove all those who have looked me down. I want to fight for that future!

“A promise made, will be delivered. And I hope for the same repayment” ...Come try me!

I have met some of my most important friends in life - god-send angels. I am grateful for their supportive and encouraging advices. We will work hard.
