The ninth week of BMT was a very tough week for me. We had IPPT test, SOC test and SIT test squeezed in a week. IPPT and SOC test (diagnostic) were arranged in a day, thanks to the heavy rain that brought thunder, the SOC test was cancelled. Imagine, after every SOC, so many injuries (and brusies) you will have. Well, I haven pass my IPPT cos of my Standing Broad Jump and a need a few more pull-ups. Think at this standard, I won't be able to pass my IPPT. Anyway, I'm not going to OCS, at most SISPEC is my extreme.

Day 1
The SIT test was on Thurs to Sat. The objective is to assess our leadership skills to determine whether we qualify to go to command schools. The first day was heaven (except for the long 12km road march which was killing), nothing much except lessons. We had fresh rations for both lunch and dinner. It's mixed vegetable rice. However, my platoon's section is so suay la, we kanna the sai kang party, we had to do all the logistics the day before, on the first day and last day of SIT test. Anyway, it's development, so better not complain. Well, my SIT test buddy was good, he is sure go command school fellow. No complains for him.

Day 2
SIT test officially commerce on Fri and we were tasked with six missions after a 4km fast march. Well, we were the only detail that had all six mission passed. Don't know is heng or suay, I was the I/C for the first mission, and I managed to lead the detail to accomplish within 10mins which is 20mins earlier than the time allocated. I think I did well for that mission. However, my detail got too many garang people, they say most of the things, until I have nothing to say. Only you are the I/C then you have more power. Some are so dominating. Hell came around 1pm when thunder storm came with rain pouring, imagine we were in the "jungle" and where the hell can we find shelter, however, we found one, but a leaking one. Haha, we were all wet, even, our underwear were wet, so uncomfortable. We stood in the shelter for 45mins until the HQ called us back, we ran like mad to our campsite. Afterwhich we continued with our last mission at the campsite verbally without carry out our plans as it was raining.

The rain stopped at around 4plus and we were allowed to change to sandals for the rest of the day. Night came, everyone was worried on how we gonna sleep cos our basha was flooded cos of the low-lying land. Luckily, they allowed everyone to sleep in the training shed. Imagine, having 170 people squeezing in that small area. We just slept. One spooky event happened, I remembered that my friend, Justin slept beside me cos we went to the latrine together before we slept and chatted a while. He was snoring so loudly until his "neighbours" including me, can't sleep. However, the next morning, when I woke up, he was not the one beside me, someone else, he was "shifted" away. Even, the person beside me and Justin could not understand why. Nobody went to the toilet in the night after we slept, somemore, the place is so cramp, it's difficult to change a sleeping spot. That made us ponder for quite a while.

Day 3
Sat came and it was the last day of SIT test. We had 2km fast march before we start our missions. We got a bad assessor, he is so strict and he wants things to be fast, our missions are always fighting against time, cos, he gives only 20mins for every mission. We were the second detail to reach campsite. The last mission was the most tiring. As we were too slow in planning, he decided that one of our men was shot dead and he needs to be brought back to camp. We could not use our stretcher was he told us that it was destroyed by our ememies. That injuried fellow is close to 80kg. What the fuck, we carried him with our ground sheet, with 6men rotating to carry (and drag) him back. That route was around 400m back to camp. We ran like hell. When were shacked out when we returned.

We did a debrief and peer appraisal before the SIT test ended. The rain came again at around 3pm and we were trapped in the rain. As my platoon's section was the fatigue party, we did "chores" until 5pm. We took the last tunnel back and reached company line at around 5.45pm. We cleaned our rifles and rushed like mad to book out. We only have 35mins to clean our rifle, send arms, unpack our stuff and prepare to book out. Luckily, we were in time to book out. You could see people scolding another for being slow. That was not pleasant, I thought. Everyone was fed up.

Upcomings...
I reached home around 8.30pm. So late sia, and have to book in today at 1940hrs. Well, this week got live range, IPPT evaluation test (final), SOC test (made-up cos of the rain). After next week, it is relaxing as what's on plan is only hand grenade test, 16km and 24km road march before Graduation Parade (aka POP).

  • I may look ‘beng’ or ‘dao’, but I am actually an extrovert. Time will tell, I can yack non-stop, crap and express myself with the weirdest examples. I am crazy, but thats the way to distress ma. Being original, simple and honest are my primary goals in life, and I hate hypocrites and pretentious people. So devils, please stay away from me.

Backed in primary school, some catastrophe happened and that changed my goals in life. Well, I am working very hard for that ‘paper’ and that bright and promising future. $$$. I want to prove all those who have looked me down. I want to fight for that future!

“A promise made, will be delivered. And I hope for the same repayment” ...Come try me!

I have met some of my most important friends in life - god-send angels. I am grateful for their supportive and encouraging advices. We will work hard.
