It was a late post, cos I just came back from guard duty yesterday morning. Last Saturday guard was my second weekend guard in my NS life-span. This month, our brigade has to “bao” 9 duties including 3 weekends (usually is 3-4 duties with one weekend), all thanks to 5SIR, cos they went to Brunei for a three-week exercise. Heng arh, I only kanna one weekend out of the 3, those unfortunate ones had to “bao” all the three weekends.

The guard commander sucks. (Sergeant Billy – weighs 80kg and 1.5m tall) There were a shortage of 3 guards and he made the prowlers walk 6 shifts instead of the usual 4 shifts, which means, instead of prowling two hours and resting four hours, now your rest time will be halved. Sickening right, the reason he gave was not enough guard, I helped my friend to defend, and eventually, I asked him to prowl the last shift himself, to make things fair. He resisted initially, but was defeated by peer pressure when everyone was dying to see him prowl.

Other than guard duty, the highlights of the week were only the preparation for the Half Army Marathon (Army’s Open House) where runs are conducted twice a week. First year soldiers like me have to complete 10km. Every Tuesday mornings will be 5km run, while on Friday afternoons, it will be a book-out run, at Bedok Reservoir, Bishan Park or East Coast Park ranging from 9km to 15km, conducted progressively. Just like last Friday, we ran 2 rounds around Bedok Reservoir, 9km under 60 minutes. Will die, many cheated and ran only one round. Where is your integrity?

Cleared off today because my weekend was burnt partially for “defending my camp”. Sian, as from 10th July to 7th August 2007 would be on Amber Alert, thus can’t clear off for long weekends. Aka on-call, meaning if they call us back, we must head back to camp in two hours ready with our field pack. In times of war, you think Singapore will win? Till now, I am still very negative about Army.

  • I may look ‘beng’ or ‘dao’, but I am actually an extrovert. Time will tell, I can yack non-stop, crap and express myself with the weirdest examples. I am crazy, but thats the way to distress ma. Being original, simple and honest are my primary goals in life, and I hate hypocrites and pretentious people. So devils, please stay away from me.

Backed in primary school, some catastrophe happened and that changed my goals in life. Well, I am working very hard for that ‘paper’ and that bright and promising future. $$$. I want to prove all those who have looked me down. I want to fight for that future!

“A promise made, will be delivered. And I hope for the same repayment” ...Come try me!

I have met some of my most important friends in life - god-send angels. I am grateful for their supportive and encouraging advices. We will work hard.

This is me, welcome to my world!

Met Since 1998. Alvin & BaoBao.
