February has official ended yesterday and this was the first month that I had no duties to do. Not even COS or Guard duty. Reason being - my Monday guard was changed because I had to move out to Tekong for Ex. Pegasus in the morning, thus excused. When I returned on Thursday, my Friday’s COS duty was changed to those who were not involved in the exercise.

Ex. Pegasus is a 5SIR exercise. Only CSP and the IS platoon from our company were involved. Our involvement was the FLTS and the VOTM trial in Tekong. Well, the FLTS went fine, we were able to track all the icons. However, when Brigade Commander and S3 came, all the icons disappeared. Ironically, when the left, all the icons appeared again. Fortunately, S3 witnessed that and was able to relay that to commander. The unpromising VOTM surprising went smoothly, we were able to communicate with the PLC people via satellite at Tekong and the link was quite stable on the move in the jungle.

Initially, we were told that our deployment site was at the training shed beside the ferry terminal, but they decided to shift the SIT Test campsite which turned off most of us. Luckily, the lack of space enable us to go back to plan A. That means that I will have proper toilet to brush my teeth, urine and most important – shit. Haha, canteen break was also included since it was accessible from our location.

The whole exercise cut on Wednesday on our brigade side after commander came to vet. However, the ferry was booked on Thursday 5pm, thus we had to stay for one more day. OC came up with some plans and we had another FLTS trial which mixed the IS and CSP platoons up. We were changed to perform each other’s task. Mine was to walk to some point which was 2-3km away and mend comms and at the same time track me. While walking back when they called for paradise, me, xiang jie and sanjay saw a whole family of wild boar in front of us. A total of 8, I think, crossed us and we were gazed, not knowing what to do. Sanjay reminded us if we do see another wild boar, we will each run zig-zac manner. Haha, he was smart to think of that.

It was only at around 7pm we reached camp. The traffic from Tekong/Changi was bad from camp. It was the peak hour and we were jammed for quite some time. We bathed and went to the mess for dinner. Me, Bernard and Xianzu were awarded one day off, but we decided to postpone that, so that we can prepare next week’s stores on Friday. However, our beautiful plan ruined, cos, yesterday was Signals’ Day, and it was half day, thus our preparation was put on hold to Monday.

Come Monday, we will be heading to Jurong Camp for a connectivity exercise with 3 Signals plus an island-wide FLTS exercise. Well, I have to stay in the main CP while the rest of the IS guys could get deployed outside after the CP setup. Sian.

Backed in primary school, some catastrophe happened and that changed my goals in life. Well, I am working very hard for that ‘paper’ and that bright and promising future. $$$. I want to prove all those who have looked me down. I want to fight for that future!
