After guard duty on Sunday, everyone proceeded for their guard rest. Initially we thought that our guard rest will be disturbed by other bunk mates doing area cleaning and Jocelin coming to inspect plus making “noises”, thank god, she was not around, it was a peaceful Monday. We longed for such a peaceful life! As she was not around, the inspection of the field pack was conducted by Calvin (the Mister Nice Guy), which we cooperated with him.

The installation of the server went smoothly except a little off the plan. During the process of installation, certain steps did not go as per the manual, thus we forced it to follow by inserting the next disc… We even re-install the Stratus program since it did not prompt for disc two. However, it turned out that my server was named something else, instead of 3sibserver. We called up the engineers, they said, it is okay as long as our domain name is correct. It’s logical, thus we proceeded further. The server is now working finely, but you’ll never know what will happen next. One problem that is left unsolved is that backing up of the past exercise data. Reason being, some (the old) harddisks are undetectable by the newly installed server. Don’t why, but we hope this is just an intermittent error and hopefully one lucky day, we detect it, we will extract all the data out. The server have moved up to the OFL room and we have prepared the 11 client laptops for hooking up. However, the latest news is that we have to do a full-scale setup, sian, so it means that I have to continue what that has to be done on Monday morning.

Aside from doing IS work – server related work for the entire week, the major event of the week was to write-up appraisals of all regulars and officers and submitted in platoon level. I consolidated my platoon and one appraisal was quite “angry” and hurtful for the appraisee. Well, the consensus was the same for Jocelin, everyone felt that she should be more flexible and not be so bossy. She changed a little, toned down, but I don’t know if this will last long. As for Ivan, everyone felt that his jokes were not funny, he should learn more IS stuff and eliminate the rank barrier problem that is hindering communication. There will soon have a IS platoon meeting to settle some stuff, tentatively Monday afternoon.

Events that happened include Tuesday’s 4km route march, Wednesday’s gym and games, Thursday’s 2.4km SOC vest-slack run and Friday’s biathlon (again, swim and run, with COA and Division Comd around). Wednesday’s nights off was special, it was IS cohesion at Causeway Point’s Sakae Sushi. Full attendance, all 15 of us were there, including Ivan and Yi Jie. Everyone enjoyed it, although it was cramped squeezing onto 2 tables. Communicating with Ivan was better, I thought, more cohesion, then probably we can share more stuff with him freely… As for now, we still remained the most cohesive platoon.

Being original, simple and honest are my primary goals in life, and I hate hypocrites and pretentious people. So devils, please stay away from me.

Backed in primary school, some catastrophe happened and that changed my goals in life. Well, I am working very hard for that ‘paper’ and that bright and promising future. $$$. I want to prove all those who have looked me down. I want to fight for that future!
