Morning madness! Almost everyday, the IS guys (including me) have problems waking up early. Monday, we had the SAF dedication parade. Tuesday, 10km run. Wednesday and Thursday, command post setup at 6th Division – Mandai Hill Camp. And just this morning, marshalling for the 3rd Division’s Biathlon at 5.15am.

This two-day command post (CP) exercise will be the last exercise for those who are going to ORD in September (even my PS, 2SG Yi Jie going to post out). Hence, the rest of us have to learn as much as possible. Well, it looks like I am the one taking up the major role. I am so stressed up! At Mandai Hill Camp, I saw many of my Signals Institute’s course-mates, so glad to see them. Hmm, I felt so fortunate to be in 3SIB, cos most of them ended up doing something non-IT related. This CP was setup in conjunction with the 6th Division’s CP Workshop, upon viewing, we tore down immediately. The most difficult part was to load the HA server and UPS up, it weighs a freaking 500kg in total.

Upon reaching camp, I went straight to the OFL Planning Centre to setup the laptops together with my upper-study, Chun Hoe, while the rest unload the stores. The OFL room resembles like a CP, except, it is better air-conditioned, with LAN ports under each seat and of course, more spacious.

Just today, our brigade conducted a biathlon. Almost the whole company was marshallers for this event. We were deployed at around 6.30am when the event started at 8am. Gosh, our legs were aching. Nonetheless, the event was a success, with so many big shots present from HQ 3rd Division. After which, we had a talk by our Medical Officer regarding donating our bone marrows to our 3SG Desmond who was diagnosed with leukemia in March this year. Many decided to sign up for the blood test. Of course, I did. Aside for the biathlon event, the commanders from HQ 3rd Division was around to conduct a MOB exercise (in preparation of our Amber Alert next week), opening of the gym and OFL Planning Centre.

As the brigade will be on Amber Alert from next Tuesday to 7th August, the Brigade Commander decided to do a rehearsal-cum-field pack inspection. When the siren sounded, everyone ran down to the atrium in full-battle order with our rifles. Sound so BMT right, indeed, we look like cock. It seems that most of our field packs was below expectations, thus standards were set and they will conduct another check on Monday. Only the IS team booked out early today, I guess it was a job well done for this week. Don’t know whether they will award us OFFs for our great efforts put in.

Next week, there will be ICCT (Intermediate Close Combat Training) lessons; it should tire me out with bruises and pains all over my body. I just don’t understand, why must we learn ICCT when we can just throw our signal sets and the HA server at our enemy. Monday will be the third lesson, and I haven’t even gone for one yet, 不知道要怎么死.

Backed in primary school, some catastrophe happened and that changed my goals in life. Well, I am working very hard for that ‘paper’ and that bright and promising future. $$$. I want to prove all those who have looked me down. I want to fight for that future!
