Half of the week was dedicated to Ex. Swift Arrow at Pasir Laba Camp – War Game Centre. The exercise started on Monday and there were quite a lot of troubleshooting done, mainly due to the fact that our server was unstable. At 11pm, we went back to camp and in less than 8 hours, we were already back at the War Game Centre. The work load was tone down on Tuesday except those students (Majors, Colonels, etc) were giving us a lot of trouble like requesting for this and that. They even want us to stay back to teach them to use the system, becos they don’t want to lose the rest. U think I so free meh? I stayed over the night on Tuesday to monitor the server since the exercise stretched overnight. Wow, I only reach camp the following day at 10am and slept less than 6 hours before my phone started the ring non-stop.

Wednesday was the last day of exercise and also the Post-Army Open House’s Brigade Celebration. So it’s a super-duper busy day for the IS platoon cos we will be running to attend to both sides. The original plan was to tear down our command post on Thursday but they decided to do so on Wednesday instead. As I was in camp, those at Pasir Laba Camp were tearing down and loading the stores. Accounting stores were difficult as most of them did not know where it were deployed and used. Thus, it turned out I was telling them where to collect the stores from while I am in camp. It’s disastrous. Where is Borg when he should know the deployment of our stores like switches? He will give an answer, how will I know. (Like he always does) In camp, music was playing for the event, and the IS platoon was moving stores back to office. Everyone managed to grab a drink only at 8pm.

My reflections for this exercise: My first exercise without Chun Hoe and gang. They’ve ORD-ed. Glad for them, sad for me. I have no one to rely on, luckily, Yi Jie was around, but won’t be for long. Ding Kiat is doing his MMT stuff and was not present for the exercise. Borg, hai, a blur fellow, till today, still relying on others and does not want to assume much responsibilities. Like he always does, push responsibilities to me, but I have my limits which he doesn’t care. I don’t want to be that Mr Nice Guy anymore. The 7 new guys and 1 new spec were difficult to manage as it is now 2 seniors telling 8 juniors what to do. But with the experience they had for this exercise, Ex. TigerJack shouldn’t be a worry since they know what is expected of them. A little baby-sitting is required from us. And Borg has to buck-up cos no one can tolerate your nonsense.

Actually our PC promised to give the platoon off on Thursday and Friday for this exercise and the late nights they burnt but it turned out to be a sweeping statement he made. We were in camp to send stores, backup our server for re-installation and accounting for laptops for stock-take next week. He has clean-forgotten about that promise. A leader doesn’t motivate his followers this way. I did not learn this in Organisational Behaviour in Poly. When something is achieved, you get that fame and recognition; do reward those who worked hard for you. Eventually, he asked me to record half day for everyone (after I prompted him about offs). He “say” he will ask for more from OC. To me, off is no longer meaningful, since I have so much off, but no time to clear. I can easily disappear for one month since I got 20.5 days of off and leave, but can I? When can I clear, I don’t want them to be eaten away.

So baobao, I will find time for you. I am planning for one JB trip in November or when your school holidays are coming. And I also planning for a long vacation to stay away from camp. Ya, I am going to disrupt for studies next year in July. So have only 9.5 months to serve.

  • I may look ‘beng’ or ‘dao’, but I am actually an extrovert. Time will tell, I can yack non-stop, crap and express myself with the weirdest examples. I am crazy, but thats the way to distress ma. Being original, simple and honest are my primary goals in life, and I hate hypocrites and pretentious people. So devils, please stay away from me.

Backed in primary school, some catastrophe happened and that changed my goals in life. Well, I am working very hard for that ‘paper’ and that bright and promising future. $$$. I want to prove all those who have looked me down. I want to fight for that future!

“A promise made, will be delivered. And I hope for the same repayment” ...Come try me!

I have met some of my most important friends in life - god-send angels. I am grateful for their supportive and encouraging advices. We will work hard.

This is me, welcome to my world!
