The hunt for Mas Selamat Bin Kastari is still on. 5SIR was activated to hunt for this JI terrorist. However, I feel that he has escaped from Singapore since he was spotted around Teck Whye and Woodlands which was rather near Malaysia.

Monday was preparation for the connectivity exercise with 3 signals battalion. On Tuesday, we fall in at 6am to move the HA server to the tonner, however, due to the space constraint, the IS platoon took the second trip. The objective of this exercise was to hook up with the division and at the same time, test vSAT and SSD links. On our company, it was more on the vLAN configurations to link up and the FLTS. There were eight detachments deployed around Singapore, from Mandai to Changi, Bedok, East Coast and to Sembawang.

It was only around 12pm that the CP was opened up. Thankfully, there was a forklift to transport the server, if not, we would have to manually carry it up. The FLTS tracking was successful as the three rebros was up and could capture such a wide range that both the detachments on the extreme east and west could comms each other. However, my integration with the ra***n system still did not work. In Tekong it failed too, but our determination touched god. Haha, we tried for two days and we finally could see the icons on our map. As for the vLAN, there were a lot of problems, but eventually it turned out to be some negligence that we overlook that we had no router and directed the traffic wrongly.

On Tuesday 6pm, 5SIR was activated to hunt for Mas Selamat and had to recall all vehicles, the CSP and CCP platoons packed up and left. They left us behind because we have the heaviest stores and could not load in time. We have to stay back to look after our HA server and laptops. Transportation was a problem, all vehicles have been deployed till 13 March and we could not get any tonner back. There were no rations and there were no mess, no food. Ivan had to bring us to Jurong Point for dinner. The next day, it was canteen all the way. Fortunately, Yi Jie manage to borrow a tonner from 3 division to bring us back after OC did a final connectivity test with 3 division.

At around 8pm on Wednesday we returned back to camp, after all the unloading and the accounting of stores, Ivan asked us to wash up and meet him at the gombak mess for dinner. He granted us beauty rest for the morning till around 9plus 10 before we return all the stores. Thinking that there won’t be any exercise since there are no vehicles, we were wrong! Ivan: “I just received a latest news, there will be a brigade CPX on Monday”. We were like huh? Sian! We quickly clone the laptops that we sent back from repairs.

As me and Bernard were on off on Friday. We left the preparation to Xian Zu and gang. However, I think it was disastrous for them, managing everything by themselves for the first time. First, the server did not boot up properly, next, the lan port could not light up and they couldn’t ping each other. However, they solved it after 2 hours. I think it was a good practice for them.

Come Monday, it will be our last exercise (I suppose) before High Noon since the container is coming 17 March for loading. Monday will be vetting by Commander and Thursday will be the actual event, welcoming the Taiwanese army to look at our CP before we displace to Pasir Ris Camp on Friday. According to Ivan, we will only tear down on Saturday. It will be a long week for the IS platoon again.

  • I may look ‘beng’ or ‘dao’, but I am actually an extrovert. Time will tell, I can yack non-stop, crap and express myself with the weirdest examples. I am crazy, but thats the way to distress ma. Being original, simple and honest are my primary goals in life, and I hate hypocrites and pretentious people. So devils, please stay away from me.

Backed in primary school, some catastrophe happened and that changed my goals in life. Well, I am working very hard for that ‘paper’ and that bright and promising future. $$$. I want to prove all those who have looked me down. I want to fight for that future!

“A promise made, will be delivered. And I hope for the same repayment” ...Come try me!

I have met some of my most important friends in life - god-send angels. I am grateful for their supportive and encouraging advices. We will work hard.

This is me, welcome to my world!
