Monday was a busy day for our platoon. We gathered at 7.30am to move our server to the loading bay for Ex. Prelude, while me and Bernard went to settle the remaining stores. After one hour, the command post was not open; they could not align properly against the length of the loading bay. Master Lee decide that we should load it onto the tonner and transfer to the command post at our deploying location. We did, but not too convinced as it was dangerous. After loading, we waited like one hour for the ops side to open up the three command post tonners. It was only around 11am we managed to start our setting up inside the command post.

There were so many cock ups. First, there were no tables and benches at our cells, next, the LAN ports at the last tonner was the old type, half of the tonner did not have LAN ports, we have to waste time laying cross cables from switches to create ports for the CSS cell. As for Signal cell, most of the ports were faulty. Eventually, I have to reduce the laptops for signal cell to 4 (infact, we don’t need so much also). There were other minor problems too, such as other branches grabbing our platoon to do stuff (sia gang) and the ops warrant demanding for displaying laptops when he did not inform us beforehand.

All these were for show to the Taiwanese army. It is a built-up for the bilateral exercise next month that we will be going – Ex. High Noon. They will only arrive on Thursday and we are setting up on Monday. Funny right? Moreover, after vetting, we will be displacing to Pasir Ris Camp. Thanks to Mas Selmat (sincerely), there were no vehicles, the plan was cancelled. Heng! If not I will be booking out on Saturday afternoon instead.

Despite all the heavy and hectic schedule the IS platoon had, when we went back for rest. Rodman the new Ops officer decided to conduct a standby bed. First time ever I had. Not even in BMT. Fine, we did. Our bunk was acceptable but we had to keep our food in tupperware. Standby bed for other bunks was bad, thus for the subsequent two days it was conducted again. The most intense one was Wednesday whereby we had to empty our lockers, push them out to check for dust and even empty our duffel bags. What is he checking for? He did not give us any answers. Are the MPs coming? If that is true, then that was a good move.

With so much of nonessentials stuff that he does, everyone was very angry with him. Several clans were set up along the corridors, talking about how they want to screw up High Noon. Everyone was angry with Rodman and OC. Then, Justin decide to hold some talk with Rodman in the mess, he called everyone there. I was in the CP and I did not attend. The outcome was not very ideal, they only managed to scrap the lunch fall in and he explained the rationale of the stand-by bed. He wanted our bunks to be cleaner and rat-free. However, there were no consensus made between Ivan and Rodman, thus we suspect, the mastermind of all is Rodman, who is trying to suck up to OC by doing all these.

Why did everyone so against OC? Everyone have read the email that OC sent to all the commanders. After reading the AARs that the individual PCs sent to him, he replied with a three-page long essay. He asked the commanders not to pamper us, called the IS platoon “babies”, etc. He wears several facades. He is just trying to use us to help himself in promotions. In front of us, he says he cares for our welfare, behind us, he is doing all these.

Well, I have nothing to say. I’ll just do my job and faster get out of this place.

  • I may look ‘beng’ or ‘dao’, but I am actually an extrovert. Time will tell, I can yack non-stop, crap and express myself with the weirdest examples. I am crazy, but thats the way to distress ma. Being original, simple and honest are my primary goals in life, and I hate hypocrites and pretentious people. So devils, please stay away from me.

Backed in primary school, some catastrophe happened and that changed my goals in life. Well, I am working very hard for that ‘paper’ and that bright and promising future. $$$. I want to prove all those who have looked me down. I want to fight for that future!

“A promise made, will be delivered. And I hope for the same repayment” ...Come try me!

I have met some of my most important friends in life - god-send angels. I am grateful for their supportive and encouraging advices. We will work hard.
