An easy week has passed. Comparing to the exhausting week we had last week, this was heavenly, except for those torturous ICCT lessons that make one tired and unmotivated. Moreover, every morning I will wake up with new aches on my body. But it was fun with all the giggles we had during the lessons, since the moves were funny and obscene to some extent. Thanks to the friendly instructors, the punishments were lesser as compared those inhumane instructors from BMT when we had our BCCT lessons under the hot sun.

Preparations (mental and physical) for the Army Half Marathon were usual with some upgrades. Runs for Tuesdays have changed from 5km to 8km and the Fridays’ bookout run will be conducted at East Coast Park, ranging from 12km to 18km. We did the 12km run yesterday with the 3rd Division family. I ran my lungs out, but, hey, it did improve my fitness, at least now I can cover longer distances. However, during the Army Half Marathon, I just need to clock 10km (since I am only a first year soldier). Well, this is good preparation; it’s always good to be over-prepared. This is the same mentality we had in school.

PM Lee's son in NS reprimanded by SAF

PM Lee Hsien Loong's son Li Hongyi has been reprimanded by the SAF for not following proper procedures in e-mailing a letter of complaint to many other servicemen. 2LT Li Hongyi had alleged that another officer from his unit had been absent without leave or AWOL on two occasions.

In the June 28 e-mail, which was sent to the Defence Minister and senior SAF officers, among others, 2nd Lt Li also stated that he had reported the matter to the officer's superiors, but no disciplinary action had been taken.

2LT Li was found to have contravened the General Orders of Mindef by broadcasting his letter of complaint to many other servicemen. He has been formally charged and administered a reprimand after a summary trial.

Sad to say, the Minister of Defence must also take note, 打狗也要看主人.
